• 1. Aspiration
• Rotate the safety arm as needed to read the scale.
• Puncture the centre of the vial to minimise potential bending of the needle.
• Draw up medication in accordance with established protocol.
• 2. Injection
• To facilitate a low-angle injection, rotate the safety arm so that it is orientated to the needle bevel.
• Administer medication to the patient.
• 3. Activation
• After injection, immediately apply a single finger stroke to activate the safety arm by moving it forward.
• Visually confirm that the safety arm has fully activated and that the needle tip is covered.
