“Hand pallet trucks are classed as work equipment and as such must be maintained in a suitable condition and routinely inspected to ensure this remains the case, as defined by PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998). The frequency of inspection will be dependent on the findings of a risk assessment with the minimum requirement of an annual inspection. If being used daily, in harsh environments or in areas with high risk of collisions then the frequency of inspection may be increased to monthly, weekly or daily checks.
